It is a technique that has been used for centuries, particularly in Renaissance Italy.
Lucian Feud painted many self-portraits, most so unattractive that I do not propose posting them here.
Today's painting is an interesting one.
The mirror itself is not usually seen, but here it is prominently featured as a main part of the composition.
