oh, it's very varied...
I do like painters who explore colour...and the Impressionists did...very lovely period I think...

You don't give detail of when Renoir painted this. My guess would be that it was when his rheumatoid arthritis had already taken hold. That being the case I should be kinder here, but for me it is a bit flat and lacking care - the lattice work shows no dimensional aspects and the perspective between the two boats isn't quite right.
Stands back and waits for impressionist fans to leap to AR's defence :-)-

I like the 'fuzzy' Impressionist texture of this painting.
Like you, I fell that there is something wrong with his portrayal of the two boats.
The composition would have been better without the far one,
