I do like painters who explore colour...and the Impressionists did...very lovely period I think... GBHs...XXX-

I am off to bed now, after a busy day - out to a barbecue.

You don't give detail of when Renoir painted this. My guess would be that it was when his rheumatoid arthritis had already taken hold. That being the case I should be kinder here, but for me it is a bit flat and lacking care - the lattice work shows no dimensional aspects and the perspective between the two boats isn't quite right.
Stands back and waits for impressionist fans to leap to AR's defence :-) -
